What does it mean to become a member of Sheepfold Chapel?

More than attending church services or church programs, it means considering yourself as an integral part of the church family and being actively involved in the church.
Membership of Sheepfold Chapel means looking to others in the church to encourage you and support you in the Christian life and seeking to give of yourself to help others.
Membership further  means joining with others and committing to living out a life of faithful witness to Christ; Being baptized as a believer and living it out; Regular attendance at congregational and small group meetings; Investing time in ongoing discipleship  and being faithful in financial support to the Church.

Who can become a member of Sheepfold Chapel?

Any person of any background who agrees with what we stand for and do, and  willing to commit and participate in one or more departments of the church family.
Anybody can join the Sheepfold family at any time. Please come as you are. We will willingly accept you as a member no matter what people think about you or what you think about yourself. What is most important is what God thinks about you. We are always ready to teach you to know what to do. Nobody is disqualified.
If you are a believer who has not been baptized, you may have a word with our Pastor or one of our elders who will help you.

Why should I become an active member?

True Christian fellowship is not a passive, sit-back-in-the pew-and-just-receive style of commitment. It is active partnering and participation in Church programs and activities essential for your spiritual growth and development.
There is real Christian love in this Church expressed in various ways as taught in the Bible. We are each other’s keeper. We are so caring for one another, both spiritually and materially.
Following Jesus calls for real solid commitment and a devotion in part is to his people. Apostle Paul prayed for Philemon to be ‘active in fellowship, so that he would have a full under-standing of every good thing in Christ (Philemon 1:6).
We are a closely-knit family bound by our common pursuit of serving God faithfully and diligently. We actively labour for the Lord because we trust it will not be in vain.

What commitment does the church make to me?

Membership of Sheepfold Chapel involves a two-way commitment; a commitment by the Church and a commitment by you. We as a church, commit to help you grow in Christ; edify your spirit and soul; encourage you in servicing God; teach and train you in the truth; counsel you in various ways and give you practical support when the need arises.

What commitments would I have to make to Sheepfold Chapel?

A commitment to regular attendance: Both in a congregational setting on Sundays and in small groups (households) where you can get to know people, be supported and encouraged by them and to encourage them too. Obviously there would be exceptional times where it is not possible to attend (Hebrews 10:25).
A commitment to serve: The body of Christ only grows as each part does its part   (Ephesians 4:16). If you are unsure what part you are meant to play or which ministry opportunity you should choose, do speak to our Pastor.
A commitment to pray: You will be trained to pray and to love prayer if you do not. You will be expected to pray for the Pastor, Church leaders and members, your family and relations, the unsaved etc. We will strongly encourage you to make prayer and worship a personal discipline and as a priority to pray without ceasing (Colossians 4:2; John 4:24).
A commitment to give: You will be expected to give in a prayerful and planned way   (2 Corinthians 9:7). As a charity we are able to reclaim gift aid on any donations given by tax payers. For further information on gift aiding your donations please contact the church office
A commitment to our vision: You will be expected to commit to our vision; preaching and teaching the gospel……But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry (2 Timothy 4:5).
